“Love Me”

M bought me Love Me for Christmas… somehow I had never read any of Garrison Keillor’s fiction before this.  I would sum it up thusly: very similar to a Lake Wobegon monologue, but R rated.I did enjoy the book.  I didn’t love it, but it was a fun read.  I didn’t LIKE Larry, but I sympathized with him.  I sympathized with Iris, too.  The whole New Yorker as Mafia owned thing was a bit bizarre, and like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, I could have quite done without the epilogue.  In fact, looking back on it, I wasn’t thrilled with the very end – I liked Larry and Iris making their way back to one another, but the political twist at the end seemed out of place.
